History of Baroque Clocks
The swedish Baroque clocks from the 1700s are heavily influenced by the classic English Longcase clocks and have a much straighter look and profile than the better known swedish mora clock.
They can be plain in decoration or have a carved front panel or even have a far more embellished colour scheme with laquerwork decorations ( as in the 'angel' motifs above).
One thing you will notice is that clocks from the late 1700s have single handed mechanisms, telling the time to the nearest 15 minutes segment.
